A quiet ski season has hit Ruapehu Alpine Lifts in the pocket, but the company has still recorded a surplus.
The company recorded a small $270,000 surplus for the year ended April 30, down from more than $1 million the previous year. Revenue was $1 million less than the previous year, too.
Chairman Duncan Fraser said warm and wild weather last winter resulted in less snow cover at Whakapapa and Turoa.
"The winter season came to a very wet, disappointing end in October and for the first time in a number of years no skiing was able to be offered in November."
There were 314,000 skier days, which, the company said, was the lowest in many years.
