A woman who photocopied a doctor's prescription to get four times her amount of prescribed anti-anxiety pills was sentenced to community work in Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
Hailee Tiana Hyland was given the prescription on June 6, and immediately made copies of it, taking them to pharmacies around town, police prosecutor Sergeant Drew Morrison said.
Hyland pleaded guilty to four counts of using a document for pecuniary advantage.
The final pharmacy refused to serve her when they realised the prescription was a photocopy.
She was arrested on July 3, and told police she was at "a bit of a low point in her life" and needed some medication.
