Mat Enright is nine months into a personal mission to play a gig a day - and he's bringing one to Wanganui this week.
He'll be playing at the Savage Club Hall in Drews Ave after the Whanganui Musicians' Club's annual general meeting on Thursday night. The meeting starts at 7pm and should be over by 8.30. Then there's a light supper before the music starts.
In case you don't believe Mr Enright can play a gig a day, check out the list on his website, matenright.weebly.com. The Wellington-based musician has had some days off since starting his mission on July 29 last year, but played extra gigs on other days as well. His venues have included cafes, hospital foyers and busking in Cuba St.
His performance is an enticement for club members, and anyone else who wants to be involved, to come to the meeting. It is open to the public.
One item of business will be how the club can work more closely with Wanganui's Savage Club, which owns the hall. Savage Club members have been invited to come and contribute their ideas.
