Winston Peters spoke to The Country about his pension payment controversy and also accused the "old parties" of shameless consumptive spending election promises.
Peters says his recent superannuation mistake was no different to anyone else's - it was a private matter and the fact it was made public is an example of "conniving and dirty politics."
As for the "old parties", Winston Peters says they are "desperate" and "throwing money around like an eight-armed octopus."
In contrast, Peters says New Zealand First's promises are about "expanding productivity, expanding export growth and expanding our wealth."
