More ventured over to the cattle and beef area than before with the new events.
A steady flow inspected the trades' exhibits, children delighting in getting into the cabs of large vehicles like the Tararua Alliance grader, and parents gaining information about water systems, tool racks, show specials, the latest farm technology and the latest model cars.
All the sectional bosses were thrilled with the response of exhibitors, competitors and spectators and Brian Beale as President of the A&P Association was a very happy man.
"It is all about innovation," he said.
"There has to be something new each year and thank goodness my committee keeps coming up with great ideas."
Former President Doug Isaacson is full of praise for the A&P Association committee. He commends the variety of activities the show offers in such a compact and well maintained showgrounds.
He commended the early organisers who planted so many trees and supports the multiple use of the grounds, such as the Wheels with Attitude show the previous weekend.
He said Dannevirke's A&P show thrives when many around the country are struggling.
