The Bay of Plenty Roller Mills team for 2016 has been announced.
Seven of the champion Tai Mitchell Rotorua Maroon team have made the squad plus one from Rotorua Gold.
Four Whakatane players have made the squad.
Coach Cliff Honey said they believed they had selected a squad as strong if not stronger than last years.
"The quality and depth of players around made it a very hard decision in selection and a lot of top players unfortunately missed out . We have nine weeks left to put together a game plan and structure and to get these boys tournament fit. We are looking forward to yet another positive season."
Roller Mills is the second oldest provincial rugby tournament in the country behind the Ranfurly Shield with this year's edition being held in New Plymouth from September 20 to October 1.
