Tosi, 16, was one of about 10 players from the Rotorua Boys' first XV rugby team who made the switch to rugby league this week.
Rotorua Boys' went up against Tokoroa High School yesterday during the seventh and eighth playoff, winning the match 34-14.
Latu Vaeno crossed for an impressive five tries during the tournament, including a hat-trick against Western Springs College, while teammate Tosi picked up four tries.
Rotorua Boys' principal Chris Grinter said it was an impressive result, considering the rugby union boys played a big match on Saturday before joining up with the team.
He said there was a number of standout performances and he was happy to hear Tosi had been selected for representative duties.
"He has a good future whether it is in league or rugby."
The premier grand final yesterday was played between Kelston Boys' High School and St Paul's College, with Kelston winning the final 20-10.
The second division competition was taken out by Papatoetoe High School.
