The long-standing Chatham Cup competition has been running for 91 years and is the most prestigious club trophy in New Zealand football.
If Ngongotaha manage to win on Monday, they will book a place in the final 32 teams.
Central defender David Haua, the eldest Haua brother, said it would be a huge achievement to make the final 32.
"The boys are pretty amped up. It has been a long time since the club has gone that far, it is pretty much history."
Ngongotaha have been competing well in the tough Waibop Federation One competition this year and should challenge Rangers on Monday.
"The season has been going really good, everyone has been gelling together quite well."
In Ngongotaha's first Chatham Cup match against Pukekohe, they won a thriller 4-3, with midfielder Zak Haua scoring a brace.
Such is the confusion of having three brothers in the team, the referee awarded David Haua the two goals on the match card.
David Haua laughed about the error when asked, and said he would love to bag a goal of his own on Monday.
"I'd love it. Especially if it was the winner."
He said his father never played football when he was younger and he did not really know why all five brothers had got into the sport.
"He has never played in his life. He took up coaching when I was younger, but he has always been a rugby man.
"So I don't know how that came about."
In an interesting twist, South Auckland were drawn against Ngongotaha after defeating Rotorua United 4-3 in round one.
David Haua said they would love to see plenty of home support down at their home ground on Monday.
Ngongotaha are set to play Cambridge today in the Federation One competition and will be hoping no one pulls up with an injury.
The Chatham Cup match between Ngongotaha and South Auckland Rangers will be played on Monday at Stembridge Rd at 2pm.
