With a chance to move near the top of the table, Central went to work against East Bay United in their second game of the day.
The Rotorua side managed to restrict East Bay United to 150/9 in their 20 overs.
However, the score proved too much for Central, who could manage only 102 all out.
Rotorua-based Bay of Plenty Indians had both their games washed out on Saturday at Boord Park, with the first game abandoned and the second game not played.
Tauranga Boys' College, Eves Realty Greerton, and Element IMF Otumoetai Cadets also had their matches washed out in Rotorua.
Meanwhile, Mount Maunganui won both their encounters in Te Puke to grab the outright lead in the title race.
The Mount's first-up match with East Bay United turned into a run fest, with both sides blasting 200 runs in their turn at bat.
East Bay United batted first with the Yates brothers smashing the ball to the boundary as their team reached 200/5.
Tom Yates finished on 74, while Alex Yates reached 41 before being dismissed.
Despite a slow start, Mount Maunganui reached their target with three balls to spare and six wickets in hand.
Batting at five, Nick Smith smashed 110 in quick time to anchor his side's innings.
The occasion marked Smith's first premier century after falling in the 90s on a number of occasions in the past.
Mount also defeated City Sports Bar Te Puke in the later match.
