The i-Site also had a stall at the market so it was convenient, he said.
"I think it's great for the awareness of it [cancer]. It does affect a lot of people in their own way."
As of last night, Mr Beattie had raised $1726.45 for the Cancer Society.
He said he wanted to give "a big thank you" to everyone who had supported him with donations as well as Wilson Bros who would be doing the shave.
