Police are seeking witnesses to a serious assault that took place in a Pukehangi park on Saturday.

The incident took place in the Homedale Road Reserve between 11am and 12pm.

The reserve is located between Homedale and Gem Sts.

A man was walking through the reserve from Homedale towards Gem Sts when he was assaulted by five men.

The assault involved the use of weapons and the victim suffered multiple fractures as a result.

The five men suspects then left in two cars, one of which was a green coloured Toyota Celica or Supra.
