Rotorua people from all walks of life have bundled up and experienced a night of rough sleeping to raise awareness of homelessness in the city.

Lifewise Rotorua is giving away a shared grant of $34,000 to community and charity groups for projects that support the Rotorua Homeless Action Plan.

Last year, the first Lifewise Big Sleepout in Rotorua, supported by the Rotorua community working party raised $34,000.

This year, the funds raised are being made available for the Rotorua Community via a one-off grant process.

The goal is to deliver a project that is aligned to the Rotorua Homeless Action Plan.

Lifewise hosted its first Big Sleepout fundraising event in Rotorua last year.
