Ohope kayaker Lisa Carrington won double gold at the canoe racing world championships in Italy.
Carrington defended her world title in the WK1 200m event last night in Milan and also picked up gold in the WK1 500m event on Saturday night.
It is the first time she has won both events at the world championships and clearly highlights her intentions for the Rio Olympics next year.
She now takes her tally to five gold medals at the world champs, along with her Olympic gold medal, and confirms her status as one of the greatest female paddlers of all time.
Carrington was all class in her K1 500m final on Saturday night (NZT).
