The Daily Post is launching a competition called Uniquely Rotorua which encourages people to take photos of something which they think represents Rotorua.
The photos need to be taken in November and submitted though a social network called Instagram, which is essentially a photo-sharing app. Photos can be taken of anything which represents Rotorua. Once loaded to Instagram The Daily Post needs to be tagged in the picture using the handle @rotoruadailypost. Photos also need to be tagged with the hashtag #uniquelyrotorua.
The Daily Post editor Kim Gillespie said he was looking forward to seeing readers' Instagram pictures.
"It's always good to remind ourselves why we love living in Rotorua _ and this competition is a chance for locals to share their unique perspectives on their home town.
"The Instagram format is great for amateur and professional photographers alike, and the various filters can provide some nice effects.''
