"Also golf is one of the best sports to facilitate social connectivity, catching up with your mates and hopefully be able to discuss some of the issues that affect us."
At present, emphasis around men's health falls within the one month per year with Movember. Mo Masters will shift this focus, thrusting the topic into the spotlight, creating ongoing conversations and opportunities that address the biggest health issues regularly faced by males in today's society.
So far 18 teams are entered in the competition but organisers are on the look for more groups of three to take the course.
Dunne said Waipu is going to be a great venue for the tournament.
"Waipu and John Triggs was recommended to us as a great course with a membership and community that would support the event and series," he said.
"That has definitely been the case, with John and Waipu being extremely supportive.
"We also wanted to have a spread throughout the country as we have Mo Bros and Sistas throughout and wanted to give them all the chance to get involved."
The winning team at Waipu is invited to the Mo Masters finals weekend in Queenstown to find the overall winner of the series and a prize that is proving to be really popular.
Each tournament will include a complimentary BBQ on course, beverages in the clubrooms and some competitive on-course activities including long drive, closest to the pin, pro challenge and the hype hole with prizes to be won.
Entries are still wanted, costing $200 for a team of three. These can be sorted on the 'Movember' website.
