Like Star Wars fans around the globe Onerahi's Nic Connop grew up with Carrie Fisher.
And like the millions of others, Mr Connop is mourning the death of Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the iconic Star Wars movies.
Fisher, aged 60, died yesterday morning (NZ time) in Los Angeles after suffering what was described as a massive heart attack on a flight from London on Friday.
She had been in London filming episodes of the Amazon-Channel 4 comedy Catastrophe.
She burst on to the scene in 1977 alongside Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill in the first three Star Wars movies.
Mr Connop said he was shocked and saddened when he woke yesterday to hear of Fisher's death as Star Wars fans around the globe and across the universe would be.
