Wanted: A venue for one of New Zealand's best loved recording artists to give a concert in Whangarei for children and their parents.

The venue needs to hold at least 100 people and be cheap enough for Anika Moa to charge only a gold coin entry fee. And it does not have to be the traditional concert venue, with anything from school or community hall, commercial building, and even somebody's home in the mix.

Moa will start the North Island leg of her In Between Naps national tour on April 25 in Levin and visits Whangarei on April 29 for a concert starting at 10.30am.

The tour is to promote her latest album - Songs For Bubba 2 - a collection of children's songs.

She is appealing on her Facebook page for a suitable venue to play her shows. Moa said the tour is a way of giving back to all those who supported Songs for Bubbas 2, with just a gold coin donation (and a tot) required to take in the action at her gigs.

With its production funded by a Pledge Me campaign, Songs for Bubbas 2 follows the success of Moa's first Bubbas album and she is using the power of her wide social media network to alert fans where she will be performing. Each of the intimate concerts is expected to draw about 100 parents and their children, allowing her to engage closely with the audience. And she has been overwhelmed at the fans' response to her plea for a venue.

"The response to the kids tour has been amazingly overwhelmingly incredible!

"I am literally shocked at how much you want me to come to your towns and cities.

"I promise these shows will blow your kids away and I will be crazy, loving, warm and your kids enjoyment come first. Let's dance, sing and enjoy this experience!" Moa said on Facebook.

"I need to tell you to please be patient as I comb through all your wonderful messages to decide where I play.

"I will reply to everyone so fear not! There are about 70 messages!"
