Northland's naturists will shed their summer clothing and go au naturel for "Gonatural Week" from Saturday.
Each year during the last full week of January, the New Zealand Naturist Federation holds an event to promote naturism and clothes-free recreation - with this year's week held from tomorrow to February 1.
This Gonatural Week, the federation is encouraging individuals, couples and families to "just give it a try" with many clubs around the country celebrating their lifestyle by inviting visitors to open days.
Northland has a number of nudist-friendly sites, including parts of Uretiti Beach, Tapotupotu Beach, Henderson Bay, Matai Bay, Waitata Bay (Donkey Beach), Long Beach, and Russell.
