Armed police arrest man after knife robbery

An off duty policeman tailed a stolen car until other officers and armed offenders squad members stopped and arrested the man.

He was wanted after a knife-point robbery in Whangarei early on Thursday morning.

Two men have been arrested and charged over the alleged aggravated robbery just after midnight, Wednesday.

Police had intially surrounded an Otaika house, but switched focus to the stolen car being followed by the off-duty officer.
