The Hastings branch of Shanton Fashions has signalled it will close for good in less than a fortnight.
Staff at the women's clothing store arrived at work yesterday to find the landlord had locked the property due to it being behind on rent payments.
It's understood the store has since been given an operating extension of a couple of weeks, but will cease trading after that period.
The Hastings branch had this year been tipped to remain open, while its Napier counterpart would close, along with 16 other stores around the country, in a restructuring process amid voluntary administration.
About 10 people worked in the two Hawke's Bay stores.
