Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment staff will address issues on proposals to improve the earthquake-prone building system at 5.30pm on Monday, February 25 in the Hamilton City Council reception lounge.

The ministry is consulting on major proposed changes and the public is invited to hear a panel of speakers and ask questions. This meeting is free and consultation on the proposals closes on Friday, March 8.

The consultation document is available at www.dbh.govt.nz.

Local councils make decisions on how earthquake-prone buildings in their districts should be dealt with, in consultation with their communities.

The Government has released a consultation document proposing replacing this with a consistent national approach.
