Fashion: Q & A with Greg Fromont

If you could dress anyone in the world, who would it be?

If I could put Meadowlark on any guy in the world it would be Jethro Cave (son of Nick Cave and Beau Lazenby). Mostly because the girls in the office said so.

What is the most treasured item in your wardrobe?

That would be my Claude Maus leather puffer jacket. It is actually an amazing piece of clothing, but I'm paranoid about looking after it. And, unfortunately, in Auckland it's only actually cold enough to wear it on about five separate days in winter. It's a little bit indulgent.

What is the favourite item from your current collection?

The claw ring, although it's difficult to choose. But the claw ring (available in August) is simple and subtle, and I feel like it sums up a certain darker sentiment within all our ranges.

What did your report card say?

Mostly it said I was above average but could do much better if I applied myself. I still have a folder of them my Mum gave me, actually. Essentially, I only did just enough to pass at school largely because it didn't excite me very much. I've learned to try and focus on my passions, and that way it's much easier to apply myself.

If you were a mastermind, what would your specialist topic be?

Professional skateboarding in New Zealand 1999 to 2009.
