World's star-themed collection for spring/summer, titled Black Tie, White Noise, was inspired by a study in historical formal attire. Designer Benny Castles says the star motif was drawn from the jazz and disco periods.

The penultimate piece in the collection is the Edwardian jacket - a lurex quilted number with exaggerated shoulders and a built-in star motif.

"It is an example of vintage inspiration cast severely in a contemporary, almost futuristic, light.

"The construction itself was a magnificent feat creating the portions and functionality to suit the concept."

Clearly the folks at World had their sights set astronomically high when they dreamed up this number. And as World so often does, it landed among the stars.
