St John is the largest primary care provider in New Zealand. We have contact with over 1 million New Zealanders a year providing a range of products and services to support your communities. Central to this is working in innovative ways with other community and health groups, to improve the quality of what we do, and to provide the best possible patient care.

Who's doing this great work? Great people are. St John staff are on call, all hours, every day, caring for people in accidents and medical emergencies, helping people live independently and providing relief to people who are sick and injured.

Supporting the 'frontline' work of our community programmes, clinical and operations teams are sales and marketing, ICT, HR, finance, governance, planning, customer service, fundraising and communications teams. They are all people who are living the St John values of integrity, teamwork, professionalism and empathy.

Over 17,000 people are involved in St John - 8,500 volunteers, 2,500 paid staff and 6,000 Youth members. St John is a dynamic, complex work environment. We're a first-class employer - we take good care of our paid and volunteer staff, because the quality of our service depends on them.
