A Tauranga motorcyclist is in a serious condition following a collision with a car.
Bay of Plenty District Health Board spokeswoman Diana Marriott said a 64-year-old Tauranga man remains in a serious condition at Tauranga Hospital.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the intersection of Devonport Rd and 11th Ave after a motorcyclist and a car collided just before 2pm.
A police spokesperson said the motorcyclist was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
"The driver of the car left the scene initially, but has since been located."
The incident caused delays and contractors were called to help clear the area.
Police are speaking with a number of witnesses to the collision and asked anyone who saw the incident to contact Tauranga Police.
