State Highway 2 north of Katikati is open again to traffic after a truck rolled this afternoon.

Firemen and police were called on State Highway 2, nearby the Mathers Rd turn off, to find a delivery truck in the gully close by a stream at around 1pm.

Two middle-aged men were driving out of town when they lost control of the vehicle.

The driver said "a gust of wind" pushed the truck on the other lane to the side of the road.

The driver and his passenger were not injured in the crash.

"My heart is still pulsing as It could have been way worse," the driver said.

One lane of SH2 was temporarily blocked until the recovery of the truck.
