A benefit concert featuring King Kapisi among a line up of New Zealand artists will take place in Tauranga tonight to help out some of the city's most vulnerable families.
Tautoko is a concert to raise money for Whare Tauranga, which is in its first stage of Te Tuinga Whanau's 'Whare 4 Whanau' project. It aims to cater for disadvantaged families, it is not for individuals nor will it have the capability to support visiting families.
The concert will be held at Totara St, 11 Totara St, Mt Maunganui from 7pm.
The line up includes King Kapisi; Chad Chambers; Israel Starr; Majic Paora; Nofo Lameko; TJ Taotua & Live Band!; Sidewalk Empire; Regan Perry.
Te Tuinga Whanau Support Services Trust is funding two houses gifted by the Tauranga Moana Maori Trust to help abolish homelessness in Tauranga by 2020.
The homes can house three families for up to 10 weeks and would be a place of stability and safety while they receive help to find more medium- to long-term housing.
Tickets for the concert cost $25 plus booking fee and are available from here.
