The Dance-O-Mat, a dance floor and speakers installed on Tauranga's waterfront has proven popular.
Since it was opened at 6pm on Friday and 8am on Monday 35 coins had been used to operate the speakers.
Trustpower's community relations manager Graeme Purches said that equated to 17.5 hours of dancing.
Unsurprisingly
the Running Man Challenge has already been thrown down on the mat.
