Lotto strikes in Mount Maunganui

A Mount Maunganui Lotto player is more than $18,000 richer after striking second division from last night's draw.

The winning ticket was bought from Micro Mart in Girven Rd and has earned its owner $18,413.

The winner is one of 13 Lotto players from around New Zealand who won the second division.

One lucky player from Whangarei also won Powerball Second Division, bringing their total winnings to $24,354. The winning ticket was sold at Patels Foodmarket in Whangarei.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of these winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at or through Lotto NZ's ticket-checker smartphone app.

Powerball First Division was not struck and has rolled over to Wednesday night where the jackpot will be $5 million.
