The park ranger who was fired after getting into a fight with a French freedom camper has been temporarily reinstated as park ranger.

Jarron McInnes is back on the job at TECT All Terrain Park, pending a full Employment Relations Authority hearing.

The ERA ruled Mr McInnes may have a case for unjustified dismissal by the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.

In January Mr McInnes was involved in an incident with a French tourist at the park, after he found the group drinking. The altercation led to his dismissal by regional council.
