Tauranga's ASB Arena is set to get two new courts.

The ASB Arena is set to expand with two new courts in the works.

They will be part of the new Bay Active Indoor Sports Pavilion, which will be located adjacent to the arena.

The courts will host indoor netball, football, cricket, bumperball, hockey and dodgeball action in May.

The pavilion will not only establish turf floors on the netted courts, but also a reception area, toilets and changing room facilities, and a food and beverage outlet.

Bay Venues programmes manager Robyn King said the courts will allow more types of sports to be played.

"Bumper Ball, and dodgeball, for example, are things we haven't been able to accommodate as much as we would have liked to.

"Morning netball for mums, which we already offer in Tauranga at QEYC, will also be able to be played at the ASB Arena when the new courts are completed," she says.
