Some of the Western Bay's better sprinters turned out to contest the 100m club championships at the Athletics Tauranga club night on January 26.
Kyle Trollip won the senior men's title in 11.47 sec and Amy Robinson the senior women's in 12.66 sec. Guest runner Molly Florence SW from Rotorua put in a fine performance and pushed Robinson all the way before she won by 0.16 sec.

Josh Tisch M14 dominated the 800m, leading from start to finish in 2:21.61, followed by Banks and Russell Lake MM.
There was a small field in the triple jump.
The best jump of the night was 8.81m by guest competitor Meila Eades W14, with Jessica Davie W12 jumping 8.29m and Alicia Davie W14 8.05m.
In non-championship events Trollip won the 300m in 35.64 sec from Corban Eades M16 and Robinson.
Only veteran stalwarts Gavin Smith and Russell Lake fronted for the 3000m.
Smith was given a 60 second handicap but that proved too great a start for Lake who managed to claw back 26 seconds but was still 34 seconds in arrears at the finish.
