Heavy rain might be hitting Tauranga this weekend.
Metservice today issued a severe weather watch for the Bay of Plenty for the possibility of heavy rain from Saturday morning to late afternoon.
The heaviest rain fall is expected to be around midday.
The watch was issued for the whole Bayof Plenty, excluding the eastern ranges, which was issued with a heavy rain warning with 120mm to 180mm of rain expected on Saturday.
