Police are warning people not to be sucked in by bogus phone calls purporting to be from nova energy.
The calls which demand payment to the energy company nova energy, with the caller threatening to cut off power if payment is not made, according to police.
A police spokesperson said anyone who received such a call could verify whether it was genuine by calling nova on 0800 668 236 and should not make any payment until the call is verifued and you are satisfied it is genuinely from nova.
Police are investigating the calls, and would like to hear from anyone who believes they have been targeted.
