Ratepayers will have to wait another week before they hear details of this year's rates increase and possible spending cuts, with closed door briefings postponing today's Tauranga City Council meeting.
The meeting, initially scheduled for 9am, was postponed until 1.30pm but will now reconvene sometime next week, a council spokesperson said.
Elected members met in workshops closed to the public on Tuesday to discuss possible cuts to services as they strive to keep rates to a 2 per cent rise on top of a proposed 4.7 per cent stormwater levy.
The closed door sessions between council staff and elected members carried on today until after lunchtime.
