Today is Armistice Day, and veterans and their families across the country will be commemorating the 95th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
More than 18,000 Kiwis lost their lives in the war.
A national ceremony began at 11am at the National War Memorial in Wellington.
Royal New Zealand Returned and Services Association (RSA) national president Don McIver says it is a day to remember the huge commitment New Zealand made.
