A great big calorie-burning Zumba party will kick off the annual Great KidsCan Fun Run events in Tauranga and across New Zealand on Wednesday, December 5.

For the first time in the history of the Santa Run, licensed Zumba instructors will lead the warm-up sessions for nine races across New Zealand.

Around 4,000 race participants nationally dressed in Santa suits will dance their way into the holiday spirit with Zumba's fitness-party warm-up while preparing to tackle the 2-3km course.

New Zealand Zumba Education Specialist Carolina Arias said Zumba Instructors across New Zealand were really excited to be part of this year's event to support the Great KidsCan Santa Run and give back to a great cause.

"The Zumba community is always looking for ways to lend our hands for great causes. We couldn't think of a better way to give back during the holiday season than to join forces with KidsCan and make a difference in children's lives," said Carolina.
