Bayleys International Race Day featuring the Windsor Park Stud Japan Trophy

Tauranga Earth Hour candlelit concert
Where: Edgewater Fan Reserve.
When: Saturday evening.
Time: 7.30-9.30pm.
Cost: Free
Come and enjoy the sweet sounds of local artists Dreamgun, Chanelle Davis and Luke Thompson. Instead of bright neon lights flooding the venue, the artists on stage and viewing areas will be illuminated by the soft flickering light of candles. Read more...

What: World Kahawai Cup.

Where: Papamoa Beach.
Time: 8am-5pm, Friday to Sunday.
Organised by Rotary Club of Papamoa in association with the Western Bay Surfcasting Club, take part in the ITM Kahawai World Cup Surfcasting Bonanza. For more information visit www.kahawaiworldcup.com
What: NZ House and Garden Tour 2011
Where: Various.
Time: 10am-4pm.
Tauranga property owners will open their homes and gardens in the largest event of it's kind in New Zealand. The proceeds of the tours will be donated to the Cancer Society of NZ. For more information phone Tony Goode on 09 480 9948.
What: Te Puna Tavern Social Club fishing competition.
Where: Tauranga Harbour.
Time: Friday 6pm to Sunday 12pm.
Take part in the second annual fishing competition. Briefing at the tavern on Friday at 6pm. Weigh in on Sunday from 12-2pm, followed by a BBQ. Entry $10 adults, $5 children. Phone the tavern for more details, 552 6025.
What: Beyondsemble Concert.
Where: Village on 17th.
Time: 8-10.30pm.
A skilled performance by talented musicians. Tickets available from Baycourt TicketDirect.
What: Imbibe Bedroom Bash.
Where: Imbibe Bar.
Time: 9.30pm-2am.
Imbibe bar has teamed up with naughtyshop.co.nz to bring a sexy lingerie show to the Western Bay. Guests can also win a trip for two to Dream World. Free entry, live band.
What: Waka Ama Corporate Challenge.
Where: Pilot Bay.
Time: 8am-4pm.
A fun annual event for corporate teams to experience outrigger canoeing. The course runs parallel to the shoeline in Pilot Bay. Phone Theresa Wharekura on 027 733 1839 or 571 0650 during office hours.
What: State New Zealand Ocean Swim Series - Sand to Surf.
Where: Mount Maunganui Main Beach.
Time: 9am-2pm.

What: The Little Big Markets
Where: Corner Matai St and Maunganui Rd.
Time: 9am-2pm.
