Whip out the shoulder pads, mullet-up and be propelled back to the age of synthplicity. Totara Street is going back to the 80s next weekend with a night of live music from some of the country's finest musicians.
A monster night is promised, featuring AutoMatic 80s taking people back to the decade of new romantic and new wave hits.
Performed live, loud and pumping, this group of musicians features the high-energy stage antics of frontman Justin Maclaren, backed up by the pitch perfect Pearl Runga (sister to Boh & Bic), drummer Bobby Kennedy (Opshop), lead guitarist Danny McCrum (The Buskers, support to Eric Clapton, John Meyer and Simple Minds) and bassist Clint Harris (Opshop, The Feelers).
Hundreds of hours of pre-production, musicianship and attention to vocal detail create an authentic live 80s music experience that will leave audiences exhausted and voiceless from dancing and singing. If you love the music of bands such as Frankie Goes to Hollywood, OMD, Simple Minds, Erasure, Dead or alive, Style Council, Soft Cell, Eurythmics, Berlin, Madness, Aha, and Duran Duran, then start planning your costume, as the dress code is 80s.
