Fat Freddy's Drop will be the top act at next year's summer winery tour in Tauranga.
The star-studded line up of Kiwi musicians set to play at the annual Classic Hits Winery Tour will also include a collaborative performance from Anika Moa, Boh Runga and Hollie Smith.
Completing the three-band line-up are The Adults, which is made up of Shihad's Jon Toogood, Julia Deans from Fur Patrol and Dimmer's Shayne Carter.
The event, now in it's seventh year, will be held on March 1 at Tauranga's Wharepai Domain and 16 other locations around the country, making it the biggest tour in New Zealand.
Co-promoter Campbell Smith said the tour promised Tauranga concert-goers an unforgettable experience.
"Who cares that it's not a winery? It's just a fantastic venue, so we bring the wine in," he said.
"This will be our fifth year at the Wharepai Domain in the mighty Bay with the Winery Tour. Right in the heart of Tauranga, it's always a highlight each year.
"We are thrilled, as always, to bring the Classic Hits Winery Tour 2013 to town."
Headline act Fat Freddy's Drop will bring something special and unforgettable to the 2013 Winery Tour events.
Since emerging from the underground club scene of Wellington in 1999, the seven-piece band has carved a place in NZ music lore and gained the honour of achieving the highest selling album ever by an independent artist (2005's Based On A True Story) and a slew of RIANZ Tui Awards,
The group have also performed at internationally acclaimed festivals including Glastonbury, SONAR, Bestival, WOMAD, Lowlands, DEMF and Roskilde. Chris Faiumu, aka DJ Fitchie, said he and fellow Freddy's were excited at hitting the road in February.
"We can't wait for the Winery Tour. Freddy's will be celebrating the release of our new album Blackbird and I'm sure the audiences will enjoy the energy in our performances. To tour New Zealand outside of the main centres is a rare opportunity and we won't be taking it lightly," he said.
"The venues that we are playing are an amazing environment to hear our music. And this year's line up is fantastic - edgy and dynamic. It's a great way to kick off the year."
Filling the middle music slot are songbirds Anika Moa, Boh Runga and Hollie Smith, who are fresh from their inaugural tour as Anika, Boh & Hollie.
Guests can also expect to hear a raft of well-known hits from the three individual artists as well as new material from their upcoming debut album, set to be released in February 2013.
Completing the three-band line up are The Adults with Toogood at the helm, joined by Deans and Carter. Their EP debut album received two finalist nods at this year's RIANZ New Zealand Music Awards for Album of the Year and Single of the Year.
To celebrate seven years and 100 Winery shows, a Winery Tour commemorative album will be released on November 2.
The compilation album with music from the Winery Tour 2007-2013 will feature one track from each artist from each of the Winery Tours, past and present.
Tickets to the Classic Hits Winery Tour will go on sale on Monday, November 5, with an earlybird offer of $65 plus booking fee.
The deal is available for the month of November and will increase to $75 plus booking fee from December 1.
