Shares of computer storage stocks dropped after industry leader EMC warned last week that it would cut jobs and probably report a loss this quarter, sparking wider fears for hardware firms.
EMC stock dropped 12 per cent, or $US1.47, to $US11.15, adding to earlier losses that have reduced its share value by about 20 per cent since early last week.
