A teenage boy in Indonesia has left doctors baffled after they witnessed him laying an egg.
He claims it is one of nearly two dozen he has laid in the past few years.
Akmal, a 14-year-old boy from Gowa in Indonesia, says he has been laying eggs since 2016.
His father says the eggs, when cracked open, are either all yolk or all white.
"In two years he laid 18 eggs and two today, so in total there have been 20. I cracked the first egg and its content was all yellow, no white," his father said.
The boy has been hospitalised multiple times for his condition, which continues to puzzle doctors who say it is impossible for eggs to grow inside a human body.
Doctors suspect Akmal is deliberately putting the eggs up his rectum, a claim his father denies.
The teen has been quarantined so doctors can study what is happening.
