David Sluder was casually picking up some food at Wendy's in Hernando, Mississipi, when he spotted what looked like a cougar.

Sluder uploaded a video of the cougar to his Facebook page and explained how he spotted the cat walking out of the woods.

"It is a little hard to see but I can assure you this is not a house cat. It looks to be the same size as a medium to large dog," he said.

Scott Madaus, a local reporter for Fox 13, was sent out to investigate this potential cougar sighting.

He interviewed Sluder and then broadcasted live from the scene where the mysterious animal had been spotted.

Madaus did not spot the animal that Sluder had caught on camera but, when the camera started rolling during his live broadcast, a little house cat emerged from the bushes.

The cat appears to stare at Madaus for a few long seconds and the footage had viewers in stitches.

"And that's not it... that looks like a house cat," was a particularly good line from the live broadcast.
