A classified booklet containing US President Barack Obama's Australian schedule and details of his security convoy has been found lying in the gutter of a Canberra street.
A Fairfax reporter found the 125-page booklet, Overall Program and Orders of Arrangements, 100 metres from parliament on Thursday.
The cover of the booklet states the information should not be provided to anyone not authorised to receive it and provides the president's schedule, down to the minute.
The booklet provides details of Mr Obama's secret service protective division, names a long-standing member of the secret service and lists seating arrangements for the presidential motorcade.
It provides dozens of mobile and landline numbers for senior Australian and US military and civilian staff.
National security analyst Alan Dupont said the find was a significant security breach.
"If that had got into the wrong hands, it would certainly put the president and some of his entourage at risk if someone could respond quickly enough to having the information," he said.
"It could be exploited down the track because it's got all sorts of numbers in it.
"And if you are somebody who could exploit that or sell it to someone who could exploit that, it could be serious because you could listen in to the telephone calls of people who are very senior."
