US President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, have helped make the world safer, Australian Prime Minister John Howard says.
"I believe both of them made a strong contribution to producing in the longer run a safer world," MrHoward said yesterday.
Bush and Blair were nominated for the prize on Sunday by independent right wing Norwegian MP Jan Simonsen.
However being nominated does not mean much. Last year there were 165 nominations.
