Indian airliner hijacked

NEW DELHI - A Boeing 737 belonging to India's state-run Alliance Air was hijacked during a flight from Bombay to New Delhi early today.

The airline has confirmed the hijacking, which occurred just after take-off.

The Star TV network reports the plane has landed in New Delhi and the area has been cordoned off by security officials.

CNN says all 54 passengers are still aboard the aircraft.
