I 100 per cent agree with Clive E Rivers' comments and questions about the water application to Horizons (Letters, February 25).
Some of the water in our city is hardly drinkable unless you have a
filter and the hard water leads to much earlier damage to all sorts of appliances as well.
It would have been ideal for council to use the water from aquifer 182 to supplement the city's water supply.
Also, do we seriously support more plastic bottles being produced and shipped around the country and the globe?
I also want to express my gratitude to Māori, who brought it up.
Now let's all write to Horizons!

Project progress delays
Re mole repair: What is happening with this project? Money has been available for the repairs required for a number of years but progress seems to be non-existent.
Similar moles on the west coast of the South Island have been well looked after and are well used by locals and visitors.
I wonder if our council has the guts to make a decision and see it through eg the velodrome, rubbish collection, Fordell water supply, etc.
As a former ratepayer in the Waipa District I have seen the benefits of embracing a project and getting on and doing it, eg the velodrome at Cambridge.

In the picture
After years of squinting at photographs about the size of a postage stamp, it's very pleasing to note the current trend of large photographs appearing in the Chronicle.
