The depth of Wanganui Collegiate cricket showed again on Saturday as the school's 2nd XI were dominant winners of the Whanganui Chronicle Secondary Schools Cup on Wednesday.
Playing in the Twenty20 format, Collegiate hammered City College by 210 runs in their opening game.
They scored 272-3 with Adam Lennox unbeaten on 100, while Nate Lewis also finished not out on 60.
In reply, City were put away for 62, with Collegiate's Corey Marshall (3-11) and Harry Godfrey (2-8) the pick of the bowlers.
That put Collegiate into the final against No2 seed Whanganui High School, who had picked up a comfortable win over Rangitikei College, with WHS batsman Cameron Mackintosh making the biggest score of the tournament with 112.
It was a more competitive match, but Collegiate were well in control for the 102 run win.
They reached 172-7 from their 20 overs, with James Craig (24) and Lennox (21) the highest scorers in a team innings.
In reply, WHS were bowled out for 70, and this time Collegiate's best with the ball were James Craig and Koby Lee, both with identical figures of 3-6.

Meanwhile, tomorrow's second round game of the Bullocks Coastal Challenge at Victoria Park will also double as a National Club Competition (NCC) qualifying game.
Watsons Tech will meet Marist, with the winner going on to have their eventual Coastal Challenge round robin game with Property Brokers United also count as the Wanganui NCC final.
The winner of that game will play the Taranaki qualifier for the right to play in the Central Districts NCC finals in the New Year.
