There was some great results for the Aramoho Whanganui Rowing Club members in yesterday's semifinals of the Rocket Foods New Zealand Rowing Championships at Lake Karapiro.
Luke Watts (stroke) and Nathan Luff were a comfortable six seconds clear in the mens senior double sculls, winning in 6m 45.07s to go through as top qualifier for the final.
In the women's senior single sculls, Georgina Nugent-O'Leary won her semifinal in 8m 37.39s, while in the women's club double sculls, AWRC's Ally Bennett (stroke) and Niamh Monk finished second in 8m 12.49s, just over three seconds behind the winning team from the Invercargill Rowing Club.
The finals begin today.
