Thursday night saw Whanganui High School celebrate the talents of their large body of student athletes at the Sports Awards, which were held at the Wanganui racecourse Eulogy Lounge.
There was a turnout of nearly 300 students, parents, coaches, managers and staff.
"The night was jam-packed with celebrating the successes of our young sportsmen and sportswomen within our school," said spokeswoman Lisa Murphy.
Dux Ludorum for the girls went to netballer Kahurangi Sturmey and for the boys the Dux Ludorum was rugby's Blair Osborne.
The Principals Cup for Most Outstanding Performance was jointly awarded to Emma Rainey (NZ Under 19 hockey team) and Jessica Watkin (NZ Under 18 indoor cricket Team and the White Ferns High Performance squad).
The Team Award was jointly awarded to the National Champions of the Mixed Touch team and the boys Under 18 Lightweight Double Sculls rowers.
WHS also had 17 students that represented NZ in various sports.
